I am a Comox Valley artist painting my world in acrylic and mixed media. Art became my passion and my solace during the home stretch of medical practice after three decades as a Vancouver family doctor. COVID and a health crisis intensified my dive toward abstraction.
My work often reflects my inner world, at other times I am inspired by what I see around me. Colour/texture/shape make up my language; layering paint and collage, using tools to add/subtract, scraping away what’s not needed until I find a balance.
Art can often reflect the world that surround us; layered in complexity, it is often interpreted with a personal filter.
I am excited to have the viewer get drawn in to the mystery that I present to them, coming up for a closer look.
I believe people see what they need to see, and hope that my art enriches your experience.
Thanks for looking at my artwork and finding out about the artist behind it.
Have a look at my work on the Gallery pages, and if you see something that interests you or if you have any questions I’d love to hear from you.
Studio visits can be arranged, and I deliver locally and can arrange to ship to further away if that’s required.
